Who doesn’t like a fun 21st Birthday card, for a man who isn’t interested in drinking. I had so much fun making this card.
There was no sketch used for this card. I was just looking through the freebies in Cricut Craft Room and so the “My Old Man” card and got inspiration for this card.
Once I put the card on my mat, I went in and edited the lines, I got rid of the words “My Old Man”. Once I did that I enlarged the card to make it, so that the mustaches would be the whole background, then I cut it with medium cardstock.
Once I cut out the mustache I embossed it with D’vine Swirl Embossing folder. I also used the small foam squares to make the numbers, mustache and hat pop up off the card.
To add the finishing touches to the hat I used a white opaque marker to make the band.
When doing a background like the one in this card use a a Zig 2 Way glue medium pen to get all the edges so that your design adheres smoothly to the base of the card. It is also a good idea to score your paper where you want to fold it first, because of the small cuts near the fold it makes it difficult to get a clean a crease.
I hope I gave you some inspiration. Remember that you are not alway stuck will all the lines on a certain cut, get creative and shake it up a little. Challenge yourself to make some thing totally different then what the design was intended for.
