Life’s Little Blessings

I had this picture that I absolutely loved and wanted a way to show case it. So I made a frame for my mantel.

I used Recollections for the grey polka dot, My Minds Eye Stella and Rose collection for the floral paper. The rest of the paper was plain cardstock.

I love this layout and titled it Life’s Little Blessings. The colors when fabulous in our  living room.

I used the Flower Shoppe Cartridge to create the flowers. I also used CCR make the grey flowers to mimic the flowers in the paper. I also inked the larger cream rose with black ink. I used brads in the middle of the grey flowers.

I love how it turned out and how I was able to showcase a family photo in a creative way. Also to make the lettering stand out i used a grey pen to go around the letters.

TIP: If you want to do a 3-D page but it doesn’t need to be as deep as shadow box, try using a t-shirt frame. It is about 1/2 the depth of a shadow box and it this idea perfectly. The frame says 13×13 but 12×12 fits fine with out showing any gaps.

Graduation Card

Hello all here is some fun inspiration for the GRAD in your life. It is the season for Graduations and what better way to show someone you care then a card.

Graduation Card
Graduation Card

For this card I used a pr-made card base from Michael’s , it was the glitter set. The girl was cut from Paper Dolls Teen Scene it was one of our freebie cartridges last week. I used just your basic cardstock and embossed the back ground with D’vine swirls. I also add ribbon, embroidery floss and stickers.

Tassel Detail

The tassel I created using embroidery floss in the Graduates school colors. I folded it several times and then tied it in a knot and cut the loops to make tassel part. Then I trimmed the extra pieces that went to the hat so there were only two. I attached it with tape.

Ribbon Detail

And to add a  little extra detail I added a ribbon. On the inside it  says Congratulations. I also used foam squares to make the graduate pop off the card a little.
